Reading cards intuitively instead of by the book meanings can be really enlightening. Here’s how to play with this when you pull a card and study it:
How does the card make you feel?
What are your first thoughts about it?
Describe what you see. What images, symbols, etc stand out for you?
What message do you feel this card has for you?
How can you relate this card to some aspect of your life?
If you feel like you aren’t “getting” a message or intuition about it, simply describe what you see. You’d be surprised at what comes to you when you do that.
Here is a little bit that I got from my daily card today.
~ FOX ~
What a magical, mystical, and cosmic card!
Let’s start with the fox. I had so many fox encounters and interactions in New Hampshire it was ridiculous, they are such graceful and magical creatures. I once had one disappear right in front of me, which made me call out “Teach me how to do that!”
So, foxes are wise, playful, shape-shifters, and have an ability to become invisible. They are quick, quick-thinking, graceful, good hunters… and funny as hell.
I came upon one sleeping on a stump once on a snowy winter’s day, and I stood nearby under a big pine for about 20 minutes making my offerings and prayers to the Universe and the land before he woke and leapt off the stump, staring at me in shock before trotting off. He kept stopping to look at me, wondering how he’d gotten outfoxed by a human. A week or so later, I was standing in the woods and someone zipped past me, behind me, yipping. I whirled around quick, but he was already gone. I got outfoxed that time.
There is a playful trickster aspect to this card. They are magicians in the animal world.
What makes this fox extra magical is the Cosmic orb above him, surrounded by what looks like an iris of an eye, which is then surrounded by a rainbow. The pupil of the eye is the starry night sky, or the deep cosmos.
So, there is a far-seeing quality to this card. Endless possibilities. Connection to your cosmic origins. Seeing in the dark.
I can’t tell what the yellow flowers are, though they remind me of snapdragons, which can be about speaking, or anything to do with the mouth.
How do you express yourself? Are you able to express yourself? Do you bite? Do you laugh enough?
So, as you can see, there is a lot that can come to you when you look play with this process, and I could write a book about this card!
